What's running on STB

In-house mods and tuning built to make fights better and looting worth doing.

Combat and pacing

Fast respawns

Getting back into the fight is strongly encouraged. Regular sleeping bags bring you back in 10 minutes; premium bags in 60 seconds. You always have to be careful looting your kills — sticking around isn't really an option when a formidable opponent is based near where you're fighting.

The Bounty Tablet

An item used to place and view bounties. Anyone with a bounty on them shows a marker on the map at their approximate location for 1 hour. Killing yourself or a group member while you're a target costs you 500 rep. Log off during your bounty and the timer picks up where it left off next time you're on. Claiming a bounty awards the killer the money pot and 500 rep.

Golden Star Balm

All that armor means nothing if you get knocked out with it on. If you want to stay conscious during your fights, this is what you need — it blocks all incoming shock damage.

Third-person driving

This is a first-person-only server, but third person is allowed while driving. Switch to it with V or your camera perspective switch bind.

Healing

IFAK / AFAK / Surgical Kit

These kits restore 25%, 50%, and 100% health instantly, respectively. They also repair all cuts, but can't be used above 95% health.

ALU Splint

Instantly fixes a leg break. Nothing more to explain with this one.

Golden Star Balm

Blocks all incoming shock damage so you stay conscious through a fight — the counter to getting knocked out with full armor on.

Raiding and bases

Offline raid protection

The server runs ORP. If you're not online you can't be raided — but if at least one authorized member of the base is online, the base can be raided outside of raid weekend hours. There's a 20-minute timer after you log off during which you can still be raided, and logging off mid-raid won't protect you unless the raiders stop for a full 20 minutes.

Raid schedule

Raiding runs Friday 7pm to Sunday 9pm (-05:00 UTC). A bomb icon appears on the right of your screen while you're raidable and holding a raid tool.

Raiding a vehicle

To take someone's car you'll need a lockpick and a screwdriver. First lockpick the car, then use the screwdriver to change the lock.

Repairing a helicopter

If your heli has fuel and battery but won't fly — or you see smoke — it probably needs repairs. Grab a pipe wrench and approach the helicopter to get a repair prompt.

Gas zones

Gas zones are where you'll find more keys and base upgrades. Getting in requires only a mask, but masks are a bit harder to come by and run around 50K on the market.

Loot and exploration

50+ locked doors and keycard rooms

Many are in places you'd never think to visit, rewarding exploration with genuinely useful loot. Admins won't reveal where your keys go — most are self-explanatory — but asking the community in Discord or in-game is fair game. Keys spawn on infected and in airdrops. Every Police Department also has a military crate with tier 2–3 gear; kill a police infected carrying the key to unlock it.

Key card rooms

Keycard rooms hold the best loot on the server. There's a 25% chance for a tapper in most keycard rooms and 100% in the higher-tier rooms. Most also have a chance to hand out a blackmarket key and a random new keycard.

Hacked crates

The best way to get a lucky tapper if you can't seem to get your hands on a high-tier key card — or if you just want PVP with a great reward. There's roughly a 15% chance to get a tapper in a hacked crate.

Rolling Hill

A king-of-the-hill event that can spawn nearly anywhere on the map. It offers small amounts of raid loot, exclusive new server items, and the chance at a Bounty Tablet. The crate always spawns in the middle of the event after it's completed.

For the collectors

There are 55 collectible items to find: 20 N64 games, 20 NES games, and 15 SNES games. They spawn on civilian and police dynamic events, and boxes have a 50% chance to hold the cartridge. The first person or group to collect every game — cartridge and box — and turn them in to an admin gets a custom in-game skin for free.

Custom crafting

Open the crafting menu with = or F9 to build improvised C4 and other items. Long crafts keep running while you're logged off — start one, come back later, and it's done.

Inventory and gear

Backpack restrictions

An in-house mod that omits the backpack as active storage. No reloading mags or ammo from the backpack, and no hotbarring anything inside it — though tools on the outside can still be hotbarred. It's designed to keep people from carrying far more ammo than they need and to push proper use of pouches and plate carrier storage.

Wearable ghillie

So you can stay stealthy in a ghillie and still take plates: ghillie body pieces attach to your belt, backpack, or armband, and the hood attaches to eyewear, a mask, or a helmet. Beware — your comfort and temperature will suffer while wearing all that gear.

Universal clothes size

Every clothing item has the same base storage, so full NBC gear carries as much as a field jacket and cargo pants. It simulates real pockets a bit more closely and lets anyone wear what they want without an inventory penalty for the look.

Navigation and environment

Earned map access

The map page is available at all times. To see the minimap you need a GPS receiver, and the directional HUD compass requires a compass in your inventory.

Dynamic weather, no rain

All weather types are active except rain, which is disabled for performance and gameplay reasons. It's still fully dynamic, so you may not even notice.
